3D Shoe Design Course launched!

On the occasion of "Ambur OPEN," Shri D Chandramouli, Director Grade Scientist, CLRI launched the 3D Shoe Design Course on Saturday, 24 July 2010 in Ambur in the august presence of Mr PV Gopalakrishna, President, Indian Shoe Federation; Mr MS Vadivelu, Chairman & Managing Director, Mathi Leathers P Limited; Mr Hemant Verma, Senior Expert, UNIDO & Dr B N Das, Head, CLRI Shoe Design & Development Centre. Team CLRI was also present.

In our constant quest for 'INNOVATION,' a knowledge sharing programme of a short duration (6 weeks) has been conceptualized. In its previous avatar of a 12 week Shoe Styling Course it had celebrated a successful decade and percolated to the Industry so much so that, it was now time to move on …

CLRI Shoe Design & Development Centre through its 'Design Innovation Centre' is now geared to offer the Next LEVEL of Shoe Designing Training Programme -"Understanding Shoe Design - the 3D way!" It is not a course…. It is DESIGN ENGINEERING.

Features

A unique course traversing the journey covering the nuances of shoe fashion & interpreting conceptual design through 2 D and 3 D CAD.

• Thinking Design – 1.5 weeks
• Adding the third dimension – 2.0 weeks
• 2 D pattern engineering – 2.5 weeks
• Sole and sole mould design – 1 week (optional)

This is a short programme to transform 'practicing designers' into 'thinking designers' through an exposure to various facets and influences that contribute to the evolution of a shoe design and to provide participants with hands on experience of Design and CAD Pattern Engineering Planned for Mid- August this year & thereafter mid-February & mid-August every year, the duration of the programme is 6 weeks, full-time, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday and is a non-residential programme.

The first programme starts on 16 August 2010.
